WEEELABEX Helps Reduce CO2 Emissions
Guaranteed better recycling, local and refined: less CO2 emissions and less waste.
Carbon dioxide (CO2) is considered the greenhouse gas that contributes most to atmospheric warming. Under the Paris Climate Agreement, the Dutch government has set the goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the Netherlands by nearly half (49%) by 2030 compared to 1990 levels — the so-called “Climate Agreement.”
ICT in all its facets (from hardware production to daily use and the future of decommissioned IT assets) significantly contributes to CO2 emissions. For years, Reuzado has taken responsibility to operate as sustainably as possible, contributing to lowering CO2 emissions. We have an excellent processing procedure and network for the re-use of decommissioned hardware, guaranteed data security [link to post about data security], and fully documented. Even if the hardware no longer has a future, proper processing ensures that the used raw materials do have a future — the only solution for today’s raw material crisis.Since July 1, 2015, WEEELABEX (Waste Electric and Electronic Equipment LABel of Excellence) has been mandatory for companies processing e-waste in the Netherlands, helping with this effort. This certification not only provides certainty for our customers but also helps us select suitable partners who, for example, turn plastic housings into granulate or prepare other rare raw materials properly for reuse. These partners also hold the WEEELABEX certificate and undergo regular audits. This way, the circle stays closed, and we know that when there truly is no future for a laptop, its parts still receive a second life in the most environmentally responsible way.
Did You Know?
- Processing devices by companies without a WEEELABEX certificate is, in fact, an environmental offense?
- WEEELABEX prevents your old hardware from ending up in a landfill in another part of the world?
- Reuzado holds multiple WEEELABEX certificates, enabling us to process ALL hardware components?
- We even have EN 50614 certification, allowing us to officially prepare parts for reuse? After all, reuse is by far the most CO2-neutral solution!
Including Reporting
For annual reports, internal audits, and to substantiate your CSR strategy with numbers, Reuzado provides clear reports on the amount of recycled raw materials and their CO2 impact. Measuring is knowing, and this way all involved—including ourselves—are reassured that we are on the right track for future generations!
