IT recycling

At Reuzado, we make sure your old hardware is collected and processed in a safe, transparent and responsible way. From monitors to printers, batteries to phones - we pick it up, register it, destroy data in a certified way and ensure that usable materials are recycled. And we do this not only carefully, but also simply: you do not have to lift or arrange anything yourself, we take care of everything.

IT recycling: what happens to your old hardware?

Old hardware in your organisation accumulates faster than you think. Laptops that have been replaced, printers that no longer work, phones that are obsolete, servers that have been written off. Everything often remains in a closet or IT room, waiting for ‘someday’. But all that depreciated equipment contains raw materials, sensitive data and, in many cases, residual value. That is why it is important to act in time.

IT recycling is not just about getting rid of equipment, but also about caring for data, the environment and legislation. Discarded IT equipment should not just be thrown in the regular rubbish. Moreover, within companies and organisations, you are responsible for the safe handling of all data stored on these devices. Well-organised IT recycling therefore contributes to your information security, your environmental policy and your compliance.

1. Register your equipment

Send us a list of your depreciated IT equipment or contact us directly. Think of servers, laptops, phones, network equipment or peripherals. Together, we will discuss what needs to be collected and whether you have any additional requirements, such as on-site data destruction.

2. Collection with secure transport

On the agreed day, we collect the equipment - quickly, safely and discreetly. Whether it's a few devices or a complete IT environment: we have the right resources and experience. Large volumes? No problem.

3. Registration and processing

Upon arrival, we register each device and link it to a unique serial number. We then assess its operation: usable equipment is prepared for reuse, defective parts are recycled in an environmentally-friendly way.

4. Secure data destruction

Data carriers such as hard drives, SSDs or tapes are erased by software or physically destroyed - depending on your preference and the type of device. You always receive an official certificate of destruction as proof.

5. Reporting and proof

Afterwards, you receive a clear report with all relevant information: serial numbers, processing status and details of data destruction. This gives you conclusive evidence for audits or internal accountability.

This is how we protect your data with IT recycling

IT equipment that is no longer in use seems innocuous at first glance - but it often still contains large amounts of sensitive information. Think of customer data, contracts, internal documents or login details. This is why data security is paramount in IT recycling. With every collection, we ensure a certified method of data destruction, tailored to the type of device and your preference. This way, you effortlessly comply with the AVG and you can be sure that your information will not end up on the street.

Physical destruction

When devices are faulty or contain sensitive information that absolutely must not be leaked, physical destruction is the safest choice. In this process, the hard disk, SSD or other storage device is completely destroyed using an industrial shredder. This irrevocably erases all data - recovery is no longer possible.

We perform physical data destruction in our high-security facility, but can also provide this on-site. This is particularly interesting for organisations with high security requirements or when transport of data carriers is not desired. In both cases, you will receive an official certificate of destruction so that you can fully demonstrate data security.

Responsible handling of depreciated computers

Not every computer needs to be destroyed immediately. Many devices are technically still in good condition and deserve a second life. We assess each device for reusability. Suitable hardware is carefully cleaned, updated and used for social or educational purposes.

Is re-use not possible? Then the device is disposed of in an environmentally friendly way according to WEEELABEX guidelines. Valuable materials are recovered, harmful substances are disposed of safely and data are permanently deleted. This is how we combine safety with sustainability.

Why choose Reuzado?

Reuzado is not just another party that collects IT equipment. We provide professional processing, take the entire process off your hands and provide insight, security and reporting. Everything we do is aimed at safety, sustainability and convenience for the customer.

What you can expect from us:

  • Certified data destruction
We work with Blancco software and DIN-standard industrial shredders. You always receive a certificate of destruction.
  • High reuse rate
More than 85% of all collected hardware is reused or recycled responsibly. That is good for the environment and for your ESG reporting.
  • Full insight via Circu-IT
Our own customer portal gives you real-time access to all data, from weight registrations to CO₂ impact and destruction certificates.
  • Own people and resources
Transport, processing and communication go through our own team. You have a single point of contact and no noise.
  • Social impact
Reuzado works according to the PSO 30+ standard. This means that a large part of our team consists of people with a distance to the labour market. Consciously choosing Reuzado also means choosing inclusiveness.

Sustainable reuse of IT equipment

Not all IT equipment needs to be recycled or destroyed immediately. Many laptops, desktops, servers or peripherals are still in good condition and, after a thorough check, can be reused. Upon arrival, we assess each device for reusability. Does it still work well? Then we provide a professional clean-up, updates and - where necessary - minor repairs. This gives usable appliances a second life, for example in education or social initiatives.

If reuse is not possible, we ensure environmentally-friendly processing. Materials such as aluminium, copper and precious metals are recovered, while harmful components are carefully disposed of. Naturally, any data present on the devices is first permanently and securely removed. In this way, we combine responsible recycling with maximum data security and environmental awareness.

Frequently asked questions about IT recycling

What does IT recycling include?

IT recycling covers a wide range of decommissioned electronic equipment: desktops, laptops, servers, monitors, printers, mobile phones, switches, routers, NAS systems, cables, keyboards, mice, and various accessories.
