Data recycling

Decommissioned hard drives, servers or other data carriers? At Reuzado, we ensure secure and certified data recycling. Whether you have a few old laptops or are clearing out an entire server room, we process your data carriers responsibly and in line with the strictest security standards.

Certified data destruction is always at the heart of our process. You'll receive a clear report and an official destruction certificate, so you can be confident your data is truly secure.

Data recycling: how does the process work?

Data can remain stored on all kinds of devices for many years: hard drives, SSDs, tapes, servers, laptops, USB drives. Even when a device is no longer working, traces of sensitive information can still be present. Simply throwing it away is not an option

Our data recycling process ensures that this information does not end up in the wrong hands. At the same time, the materials in your old equipment are handled in a sustainable way. Whether it’s personal data, customer records or business documents, we make sure everything is securely and thoroughly destroyed.

1. Register your equipment

Let us know which devices you want us to process. This can include internal and external hard drives, laptops, servers, SSDs or NAS systems. We discuss your needs and make clear arrangements in advance.

2. Collection via secure transport

We collect the equipment at your preferred time in a secure and discreet manner. For large volumes, we arrange secure transport. You may also deliver the devices yourself.

3. Registration and processing

Upon arrival, we register each device and link the serial numbers to the processing procedure. Working devices are assessed for possible reuse. Non-functional equipment is prepared for recycling.

4. Complete data destruction

Depending on your preferences and the type of storage, we erase the data using certified software or physically destroy the devices. You always receive an official certificate of destruction.

5. Reporting and proof

Upon completion, we will send you an official certificate of destruction. This also lists the serial numbers, giving you complete transparency.

Data destruction within the recycling process

Sensitive data can hide in unexpected places, such as backups, cache files, deleted folders or hidden sectors on a drive. That’s why we handle every data carrier with great care. Our destruction methods are certified and comply fully with GDPR and international security standards.

Certified software-based erasure

If a device is still functional, we can erase all data professionally using certified software. We use Blancco, a global leader in secure data erasure, approved by organizations such as NATO, TUV, ANSSI and the Dutch AIVD.

The software overwrites the entire storage multiple times, making recovery technically impossible. This method is ideal when the device will be reused. You receive a certificate and detailed report listing the serial numbers.

Physical destruction in the case of non-restorable carriers

If the device is damaged or contains highly confidential data, we perform physical destruction. The hard drive, SSD or tape is shredded into tiny, unrecognisable fragments using an industrial shredder.

This irreversible method takes place in our secure facility or, if preferred, on-site. It is a trusted solution for healthcare providers, financial institutions and government agencies. Naturally, you receive a certificate of destruction.

Responsible processing of decommissioned equipment

Not all devices need to be destroyed right away. If a device is still in good working condition, we assess whether it can be reused, for example in educational or community programs.

If reuse is not possible, we recycle the equipment in accordance with WEEELABEX standards. Valuable materials such as aluminium, copper and precious metals are recovered. Hazardous components are safely and responsibly disposed of.

We also buy used IT equipment

Do you have a larger batch of decommissioned servers, external drives or laptops that still hold some value? Reuzado buys used IT equipment. You’ll receive a fair offer and lower your recycling costs.

Send your list to opkoop@reuzado.nl or call +31 (0)23 5519821. We will provide a competitive quote quickly and arrange the logistics, even outside office hours.
