Smart choices with big impact: how PSO30+ helps organisations achieve SROI targets

Corporate social responsibility is higher and higher on the agenda. At the same time, in practice it is not easy for many organisations to create workplaces for people with a distance to the labour market. After all, this requires guidance, structure and, above all, departments that are geared to this - something that is far from being taken for granted everywhere.

Yet there are ways to meet your social return on investment (SROI) targets. Without complicated internal reorganisations, but by taking a critical look at your suppliers. Because that is where untapped potential often lies.

SROI starts with procurement

Many organisations - from governments to listed companies - have a mandatory SROI budget. This means that part of the annual budget must be demonstrably spent on social impact. Failure to do so can have far-reaching consequences.

The solution is often closer than thought. By working with suppliers who have demonstrably integrated social entrepreneurship into their operations, costs for regular services can simply count towards the SROI budget. Without additional investment.

What is PSO and why does PSO30+ count more heavily?

The Social Business Performance Ladder (PSO) is an independent quality mark that provides insight into the extent to which organisations offer work to people with a distance to the labour market. The highest rung on this ladder is PSO30+: a status for organisations where more than 30% of the workforce consists of employees from this target group.

PSO30+ thus stands for structural social impact and with this step, an organisation is officially recognised as a social enterprise. This level is officially recognised within tenders and SROI obligations.

Reuzado is PSO30+ certified.

We not only offer work to people distant from the labour market, but do so with attention, guidance and customisation. Our colleagues grow in their roles, feel seen and deliver valuable work every day. And our customers? They also benefit. Because a partnership with Reuzado can cleverly contribute to the annual SROI obligation.

These are the options:

1. Data-safe disposal of hardware

  • We take care of the entire process around IT disposal: from collection in secure containers to certified data destruction according to the strictest standards. Because Reuzado is PSO30+ certified, the costs for these services count in full for the SROI budget. Without extra costs, with extra impact.

2. Donation of hardware or residual value

  • Is the hardware still suitable for a second life after data destruction? Then we will donate it to social organisations - of our own choice, if required. Any residual value can also be (partly) donated to charity. That's another double impact.

SROI at no extra cost or effort

In short, even when not choosing to donate, working with Reuzado delivers direct SROI value. By outsourcing existing activities (and corresponding budgets) to a PSO30+ certified partner, social added value is created as a matter of course, without extra cost or effort.

Every organisation wants to contribute to a more social society, but not every organisation can achieve this on its own. Fortunately, they don't have to. By consciously choosing PSO30+ suppliers such as Reuzado, you as an organisation can still make a major contribution to an inclusive labour market. And in a way that fits seamlessly with existing IT and sustainability policies.

Data security, circular economy and social impact. Sometimes that's all you need to make a real difference.
